A Minimalist Composition

Contrast

A simplistic study of the Marquette Lighthouse. The foreground elements frame the Lighthouse, bringing focus to the warm lighting on the structure. I wanted to use the more organic foreground elements as a transition to the more geometric elements on the horizon, also the "wave" in the foreground elements compliments the water. The tonal qualities of the bottom half of the image are very "cool" feeling, while the top half has a very "warm" feeling, creating a sense of tension on the horizon, which is where the Lighthouse is sitting on the imaginary vertical third line.
