A World Filled with Ice and Snow

Ice World
I Decided to check out a beach near Black Rocks in Marquette, MI on March 7th when I noticed interesting cloud cover forming overhead. I thought that I might be able to get some interesting photographs by the water where mass amounts of build up ice and snow had formed from the melting and freezing due the recent weather. I was very surprised when I arrived, there was ice and snow piles as high as fifteen plus feet that covered the entire beach. In this shot I decided to use a long exposure to emphasis the sense of passing time as well as to bring out the otherworldly appearance of the scene due to its interesting and ever changing landscape. There are several more photographs in my Portfolio page, including a few photographs of a large ice bridge that I found around this same location, please feel free to check them out!
