A peaceful day under stormy skies

Time for Thought

Winds passed through Marquette on a slightly stormy day, driving the clouds to move through the sky at a fair pace. Overcast conditions provide the opportunity to photograph difficult scenes, the lighting is soft, so the exposure is relativity strait forward. This type of lighting also typically brings out the cooler hues, giving the scene a sense of strong and deep emotions.

Technical details: Canon 7D, Canon 1022mm lens (@14mm), 2-stop reverse graduated neutral density filter, 3-stop neutral density filter, ISO 100, F/22, 80 seconds.
